So Alan and I did the BHF ride last weekend, 40 miles which we completed comfortably in less than 3 hours, which was what was required of "Elite" riders so that felt pretty cool. Followed this with a week of 20-25 miles a day. Then on Saturday we did Glos-Severn Bridge-Chepstow-Lydney and then wimped out getting the train back (we both needed to get home due to other commitments). Then I cycled to Stratford Upon Avon with Claire driving "Gert" the 1978 VW Motorhome to give it a try out. Stayed the night in Stratford and then I cycled back, met Alan in Evesham and got home, bathed, changed, had something to eat and waited for Claire, who had called the AA out to fix the van, which had refused to go any faster than 25mph. Its booked in for a service next week.
Will update on how Matt got on, he did the Tour of Wessex this weekend, which must have been horrible, sunburnt on Saturday and then that wind on Sunday and Monday.
I'm really not sure how to play the next few weeks, I think I am just about there, don't want to push it too hard now, but don't want to lose what I have gained, so to think about it I've been to the Barbarians v Ireland game at Kingsholm tonight (only a couple of beers).

Has it been a Month...
I'll start with a sorry for not updating for a month, no excuses apart from I seem to see life at the moment over the handlebars of a bike. Training is getting to take up a lot of time now, and as the weather has picked up a little more time out on the road has been possible. Most days I am getting in about 20 miles, more at weekends and as I have been working in Chippenham, I've ridden home a couple of times, which is about 40 miles. As Alan said our new bikes have turned up, I've been surprised at the difference it had made, turns out my original bike was too small.
Alan and I are looking at doing a British Heart Foundation run on Sunday, which is another 40 odd miles, so I am sure one of us will update on this next week.
